is comprised of four Directors and three
Advisors
to the Board.
Scott Andrew
- President, Chief Executive Officer,
Director
| As a fourth-generation insurance professional
managing Andrew Agencies Ltd. in rural Manitoba,
Scott realized the need for a fully integrated
automation system in a broker’s
office. In his role of President and CEO of
Custom Software Solutions, Scott made the development
of a true industry SEMCI solution a
reality. Scott provides overall strategic
leadership and management direction for Custom
Software and, at the same time, he continues
as President of Andrew Agencies Ltd., a family-owned
brokerage business in Virden, Manitoba, since
1913. Over the past few years, Andrew Agencies
Ltd. has grown to include ten offices in
two provinces and provides an invaluable testing
ground or “reality therapy” for
the Custom Software product. |
Craig Eldstrom
- Director
Craig has been involved with Custom
Software since 1995 and is currently a
Director. He began his career
in the insurance industry in 1980 as claims
adjuster for a government-owned and -operated
insurance company. In 1987, he became a licensed
broker and joined the family insurance operation
in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Craig’s
insurance knowledge and background have provided
invaluable resources to the Custom Software
team.
Blair Andrew
- Director
Blair joined the insurance industry as a
broker in 1986. In 1993, he became a partner
in Andrew Agencies Ltd., a fourth-generation
insurance
brokerage. Currently VP of Operations
at Andrew Agencies Ltd., Blair is also a former Director
at IBAS. He has been involved in various
capacities with Custom Software and brings
a wealth of industry knowledge to the Board.
John Proven,
BComm(Hons), CA - Director
John joined the Custom Software Board in
2007. He is Vice President
–
Investments
with ENSIS Management Inc. in Winnipeg,
Manitoba. John has fifteen years of
experience as a senior financial officer
and administrator across sectors
including public-practice accounting,
government, and the private sector. As a member
of the United Way of Winnipeg Campaign
Cabinet, a Director of the Associates of
the I.H. Asper School of Business, a
director of Prairie Theatre
Exchange, and Co-Chair of St. John Brebeuf School Board,
John is very active in the community.
Donald H. Penny,
C.M., FCA, LL.D. - Advisor to the Board
Don is former Chairman of Meyers Norris Penny
LLP, a professional firm of chartered accountants
and business advisors. He sits on the Board
and Audit Committees of a number of public
companies, including Manitoba Telecom Services
Inc. and Jovian Capital Inc. Donald Penny
has been a pillar of his community for decades
and is a Member of the Order of Canada.
Mark Ahrens-Townsend,
BSc(Eng), MBA - Advisor to the Board
Mark joined the Custom Software Board
in March 2005.
He is Executive Vice President –
Business Development at LibreStream
Technologies Inc. in Winnipeg,
Manitoba. Prior to LibreStream, Mark
spent over four years in venture capital as
VP – Investments with ENSIS Management
Inc., which is also located in Winnipeg.
A
graduate engineer and MBA from the
University of Manitoba, Mark spent 20 years in sales and
executive roles in the engineering, information,
communications, and
technology industries prior to ENSIS.
Rick Workman,
P.Eng. - Advisor to the Board
Rick graduated from University of
Manitoba in 1969 with
an engineering degree. He has over 35 years
of experience in the IT technology industry,
during which time he held numerous sales,
marketing, and senior management positions
with IBM Canada. From March 2000 to November
2004, Rick was the COO of Momentum Healthware.
Since November 2004, Rick has taken on
a new role as Independent Consultant.
